Your Finance Story

In my social studies class that I am taking to get more credits, my whole class has to look online, and do a study on howto buy life insurance. We really don't have to buy life insurance for real, just do a study like we were. The assignment is suppose to teach the class how easy it is to buy life insurance if you know how to look up the information correctly on the computer.We aresuppose to look up the liability associated to the life insurance also.We are also requiredto write a 1,000 word essay about how it will insure that we are covered in case of an emergency.

Lucky for me, my dad works for an insurance company. I asked him if he could give me a hand, and give me some pointers when I go online to buy life insurance. He said that he will guide me in the right direction when I'm ready, but won't do it for me. That is the way my dad is. Which when I was younger it used to upset me that he didn't help me like all fathers of my friends in school. But he was doing something better for me. He was teaching me how to find the answers myself. By doing the work for me is only hurting me in the long run. Teaching me to do it myself so I really understand the work, was the best thing he could have done for me. At the time I was upset, but I really didn't understand how much he helped me back then till I was much older.

So, with his guidance in searching for the information I needed for this assignment, I was able to put together a very impressive essay. I not only got an A+ for the assignment, I excelled at it and was put on top of the list for best essay for the year in social studies. All I wanted was to get the assignment finished and handed in. But with my dad helping me, he taught me not to only get the work done, but to do your absolute best at every assignment, and you come out with great rewards. I never thought that I would win an award or be best on the list before. But now that I have achieved it, I want to do it more. I want to excel in every challenge that comes my way. Thanks dad!
